I have been on a roll lately, getting you guys some great applications and some amazing themes. Our good friend @DrDroid1986 was so pleased with the response he received for the Blacklight theme give-a-way, that he offered up another theme for our readers.
The theme is called ‘Derranged’. As you can see it is a pretty twisted looking theme.

He has themed out a lot of the most popular application icons. It sure beats a simple color change.
Most people have liked the simple contests I have done recently. I will continue on that trend as often as possible. Here are the the contest requirements.
- Post a comment below telling us what your favorite Android device is and why.
Thats it. Now we only have 5 copies of this theme to offer up this time. Make your answer good. If you put something like “HTC EVO 4G, because it ROCKS!”, you aren’t going to win. So be creative and informative. Best of luck to everyone.
I can’t believe I have done it again. I completely forgot to set a time limit on this contest. We will run this contest through January 19th at 10pm PST time. That will give everyone a few more days to submit their answers.
Looking good so far. I am really impressed with what you guys are saying about your devices.

HTC EVO 4g because the ability to overclock the installed ROM’s kernel to stream video faster as well as the ability to select from a library of developed and trusted ROMs and watch movies/shows effortlessly while being able to multi-task and the phone keeps up with no problem. Oh and that 4G Wimax “thing” is pretty sweet as the d/l speeds are amazing!
I’m going to buck a trend here and list my nook color. Don’t get me wrong, I love my incredible. but the nook color is cheap, easy to root, has some great overclocking kernels that actually reduce battery use, and on the CM7 roadmap. It does nearly everything my phone does, but with a nice big screen that makes reading books or blogs easier. And angry birds (not to mention many other games) looks amazing on it. Find me another android tablet that doesn’t require a cell provider contract for under $250….. It’s unbeatable!
also..cant find you another under 250..if that is your top than the nook is for you…but if you go for 299 (when available on amazon) the archos 101 has at least 10 must have features the nook doesnt. So Archos 101 first…nook second
does it make calls?
I love the My Touch Slide while it may be lacking in the hardware deparment. I got CM7, and its funcionality suits my needs completely. Including with gingerbread, full infrastructure tethering and multitouch…alas still no google earth or flash because of the chipset.
The nexus s. 1st its android
2nd samoled
3rd curved glass
And last but definitely not least Google distributed updates ftw.
Nuff said.
Let me tell you what I think about when I pick up my phone. Its a phone for men ( or some women who like big things) a phone with a 4.3 in screen a 8mp camera, hd recording and that has physical buttons that go ” click click” . A phone that when booting up looks into your soul with a big red eye and that says its name ” droid”. I speek of the best phone that I’ve ever held I speek of the Droid X a phone that just does.
Well I’d have to say the Huawei Ascend because it’s my first android powered device. Sure it’s not as great as all the others out there but it’s something. I’ve rooted it and enjoy messing with it’s boot animation and the power off image with Root Explorer. I look forward to putting a custom rom on it though when Rom Manager works for it. So it’s a pretty amazing phone overall for the price paid.
obviously everyone will mention their own so I will too….
Vibrant with team whiskey’s Nero V5….i have not seen a phone that can perform better than that…keep in mind it needs the hardware from samsung and the rom from TW…but the combo is just plain unbeatable. anyone who has that combination and has tested the competition on the market will know this is true.
The rest who rely on unveriefied rumours and rants from others without actually testing this..will bash me about how samsung is the devil and everything they make is terrible. (quick tip…all manufacturers and providers are in it for the money and out to get you…the sooner you know that the less strees and frustration you will have in your life).
the lg optimus 2x when it comes out because it will have a dual nvida tegra 2 chip in it so it will be the best phone for about a month or 2
with the phone revolution finally coming across the pond to the U.S….new phone lifecycles are estimated at about 6 months…then the phone is old news and should be recycled..that is the rate you will see growth…phone companies have to make a profit from the phone in the market before they release the next model which makes it obsolete you know…
Galaxy S or Nexus S (pretty much the same thing). Why? Because they have better hardware than any other phones on US markets at the moment, and they’re *really* hackable. Between the two, I can’t think of a better device.
agreed…and lots of great custom roms for them!!!
Although I currently own a T-Mobile Mytouch 4G, I must say that my previous phone, the Nexus One, absolutely blew me away from day 1 that I owned it. The first thing that surprised me was how far ahead of its time it was. It had a 1 Ghz processor, 5 MP camera with flash, and true Android experience way before many of the other phones. Its availability exclusively to the Google website made it a gem to own, and the experience only got better once I took the plunge and rooted it. The development community for the N1 was always amazing, the updates were constant, the features were impossible to match on other phones, and the term Snapdragon became Android household lingo thanks to this amazing device. It may be a bit outdated, but it will never be replaced (sorry Nexus S owners).
My favorite android device is the original Motorola Droid. The reason why it’s my favorite is because I’m able to customize my droid to look and operate the way I would like. With this ADW theme I would be able to pimp-my-Droid.
My favorite Android device is currently the Nexus One and Google engraved “JoeyAndroid Remo” on the back cover, so it’s extra special. I want to collect all Google’s dev phones. I have the G1 and just waiting till I can afford the Nexus S. I want to create thousands of themes and customizations. I haven’t started one yet, but have thousands of ideas and even a website for these themes and customizations. A website that will help people find and/or configure/customize their PerfectAndroid(.com). I love the work that DrDroid does and I even follow him on twitter. I think the “Derranged” theme is awesome.
Samsung Fascinate, because whenever I try to use GPS I just scream and cuss at it so much that by the time I get home I am so wore down that my wife doesn’t have to explain any black eyes to the neighbors anymore.
What a douche

Well since i Vib in my Vibrant its the best, 1 because its samsung (dont hate), yea yea no offiicial froyo, but who needs that when I can flash a rom and install a theme and booyah…it is on the ORIGINAL Carrier for Android no other then Tmobile, so its punk bustin android in its finest, sleek, sexy, heck even chuck norris quivers in the site of an android and crapple bows down to it…its like a trusted android saber ready to slice and dice and even makes martinis, bikinis, and fries! so pump yo fist and get vibrant!
I have to say the T-Mobile G2 is hands down the best android phone with a sliding keyboard, and to me, the best android phone period! Its a very sleek and comfortable design, and you can’t beat the “z hinge”. I had the “OG” G1 all the way up till the G2 was released and I couldn’t be happier. It comes with stock android 2.2, not many other phones do. Without root it towers over many other android phones on quadrant. Oh, and it fits perfectly in the original case that came with G1. That right there was a huge deal for me. One more thing, its a Google phone! Androidspin is the best android site, keep up the good work!
