Getting Honeycomb on your Nook Color just got easier. We posted before about the beta release of Honeycomb for your Nook Color by deeper-blue on xda-developers. Well now it’s flashable via ClockworkMod Recovery thanks to samuelhalff, and ready to sweeten your e-reader. Based off of deeper-blue’s impressive work starting the Honeycomb development for the Nook Color, running an overclocked kernel by dalingrin, Gapps included via jleecong’s files, and root (su) thanks to chhaggerty and Nuroslam.
This rom still has a few bugs, but is running well. You can download the zip file here. For release information how-tos and additional mirrors please visit the original thread at xda-developers. While we support developement as much as any avid Android user we also support these words from samuelhalff:
All usual disclaimers apply. Please do not try this if not absolutely sure of what you are doing. Cicada’s Froyo on eMMC is a far better option for people looking for stability. I must urge you to consider that deeperblue’s HC for Nook Color is under constant upgrade. This means HC v5 could be available very soon.. Maybe you should wait until a more stable version of HC is available. Though deeperblue has done a great job at resolving issues.
Hope this satisfies you Nook Color owner’s sweet tooth, beware of cavities.

This is pretty interesting as I was now after seeing the Android Tablets with Honeycomb all being Dual core. I’m curious to see how this runs for the users.
Me too! The community cab do some nice things when the drive is there tho!
I bought a Nook Color last night, and flashed it when I got out to the car (I had the micro sd ready to go). It took about 5 minutes to root, and flash the firmware, and this was my first experience with the nook color. It’s fast and responsive, but limited. The market is there, but the selection appears to be filtered, so I can’t download things like flash 10.1, USA Today, or most other apps. It is an early build, and it is a bit flaky, but a good start. I am planning on flashing the original firmware back, and then re-rooting, and staying with that for a while. I can install LauncherPro, which will hide the crappy, stock UI. Glad I tried this though… And the NC itself is a nice device, though a bit heavy for it’s size.
I’ll hold off for now, But will be keeping a very close eye on this. I own a rooted nookCOLOR. I hope they will figure out a way to exploit the wifi/bluetooth/FM radio chip to its fullest potential.
