No Galaxy Tab 10.1 for U.S.

img_top_vis_ri_03

The Galaxy Tab 10.1″ is coming to a country far from you – if you are stateside, that is.  Engadget reports this:

Samsung says the 10.1 will be launching in March in both Asia and Europe — Vodafone will be the first carrier to nab the Tab — but it had absolutely no timing details for the US market. Price? We’ve got no idea, though we’re told it will be “competitive.”

The Galaxy Tab 10.1″ is running Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and is a “Google Experience” device.  This means that there will be “almost” nothing getting in the way of this being updated due to the fact that there is no Touchwiz interface to slow down progress.  Interesting exclusions are a microSD slot, USB and HDMI ports.  The Galaxy Tab 10.1″ weighs in at 1.32 lbs (the 10″ Xoom weighs 1.6lbs) so it is relatively light for it’s size.

As more details come to us, as well as some non-stock photographs we will follow up with more regarding the “Galaxy Tab II” or as it is now known the Galaxy Tab 10.1″

Engadget also posted this video of their hands on.  Thanks Engadget

While I agree with Androidheadlines below, I would rather import and use with my existing SIM. That way I’m not further squeezed by my carrier. Wise decision to make it quad band 3g. I can import one from anywhere for AT&T’s network.

  5. Fair enough Androidheadlines. I should have put, yet.
You know changing titles messes up things for search and all. ;) I’ll chalk one up to sensationalism. (guilty)

    Misleading headline is misleading.
