
A real-time 3D solution for the upcoming NVIDIA Tegra 2 devices coming out via Unigine Corporation. The Unigine Engine is being demonstrated at MWC 2011 this week in the NVIDIA booth, while some of us won’t be be there to watch, they did offer a benchmark demo of what they’ll be showing off. While this not the exact benchmark they’ll be using it’s what the new benchmark is based on, difference being the new one is mobile specific and engineered for the Tegra 2 chip.
Unigine is a multi-platform, real-time 3D engine for multi-core systems, that aids in the ability to create interactive virtual worlds. The Unigine Engine is already well known which such feats as their Direct 11 showcase using the Heaven Benchmark. The company is also licensed to develop tools and middleware for the Playstation 3 Platform.

Barcelona, Spain – February 14, 2010 - Unigine Corp. announced support of NVIDIA Tegra 2/ Android-based devices by its advanced Unigine engine. Unigine-powered demos will be demonstrated in NVIDIA booth #1C34 at Mobile World Congress (Barcelona, February 14-17) organized by GSM Association.
An android version of the Unigine engine is showcased by two demos: mystic “Crypt” (a mobile version of Sanctuary benchmark presenting visual excellence) and futuristic “Passage” (an interactive game demo efficiently exploiting multi-core architecture of Tegra 2 chips).
“NVIDIA Tegra 2 is a powerful tablet/superphone platform which brings a completely new level of 3D graphics for handhelds. The porting was smooth and easy for us thanks to flexible design of Unigine engine. We plan to add more supported platforms pretty soon”, commented Alexander Zaprjagaev, CTO of Unigine Corp.

Mobile SDK of Unigine engine is available for licensing, as well as versions for Windows, Linux and PlayStation 3.
