While we don’t have any pricing or an exact date on this release T-Mobile did state via Twitter that they would indeed inherit the new superpower amongst the Galaxy S line. Of course this really comes as no surprise with them also carrying the new Galaxy S 4G.
This phone however is no comparison to the Galaxy S 4g though aside from the internal storage, and the name they are completely different. The new Galaxy S II has a slew of goodies not being offered thus far.
- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
- 4.27″ Super AMOLED Plus display with 800×480 resolution
- 1.2GHz Dual-core processor with 1Gb RAM
- 16Gb internal storage expandable via microSD
- 2Mp Front facing, 8Mp rear facing camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video capture
With the vast amount of Galaxy S phones that don’t have official updates from Samsung yet, maybe this will make up for it. Granted it requires purchasing, but also offers so much more capabilities than what users currently have. I know a lot of people are waiting to get their hands on this phone, and it’s always our pleasure to heighten the anticipation a little more.
Update: Everyone gets excited and T-Mobile retracts statement and tweets this after. Apparently they thought they were being asked about the Galaxy S 4G. We’ll have to wait for more updates. Back to the drawing board.

it has 1 gig RAM not 512mb
Ugh. T-Mobile gets nice phones.. I wish they had better service.. VZW has good service… but shitty phones.
This is great new for T-Mobile customers like myself ! I hope they pick up the NFC version.
Will definitely be keeping my eye on this one. I’ll have to pay full price for it but I’ll make some money back selling my beloved Vibrant
this will be replacing my Vibrant. No doubt.
You may want to update this post. They’ve retracted that tweet saying they thought it was the S 4G someone was referring to. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Well, let’s see…
1. Galaxy S is announced early last year, comes to the US a few months later on all carriers.
2. Galaxy Tab is announced late last year, comes to the US a few months later on all carriers.
I’m thinking just maybe…
3. Galaxy S 2 is announced early this year, SHOULD come to the US in a few months on all carriers.
Of course I could be completely wrong, but considering Samsung’s attempts to become the dominant Android manufacturer, I’m thinking they’re not about to starting going carrier-exclusive like other companies.
I also doubt T-Mobile would announce the SGS2 this early, as it would squash all hopes of successfully selling the SGS 4G.
Samsung can’t even update their first line of galaxie s’s to froyo and they want to release a new line, please I pass on Samsung.
It will be coming to T-mobile, but manufacturers are forced to slow down releases of new phones due to the ridiculous 2 year contracts..hopefully customers will start complaining about this so it can change like it has in Europe to 1 year contracts…Technology is moving too fast to be bound in a 2 year contract.. doesn’t make sense (not that a 2 year contract EVER makes sense…especially with overpaying for handsets here in the U.S.)
