The day has finally come and Amazon has launched their much anticipated appstore. Currently said to have over 3800 apps, Amazon is looking to pull in more developers to grow an even much broader application base. Each day Amazon will be having a free app of the day and today it is the new Android Birds – RIO. You can head on over to the web based version of the application store by going here, or you can download the Amazon application on your Android handset here. Let us know what you think about the initial launch of the Amazon appstore and what it has to offer.

this app is useless to me until its available in canada. angry birds rio is just sitting there out of reach…..time to go download it off the internet
Interessting to see that the regular Angry Birds costs $0.99 even though ist free in the Google Market,
does this mean, we will see the same apps in the “appstore” but to a higher price?
It wants me to enter a credit card even to download free apps.
Complete fail. USA only store means the majority of Android users can’t use it. Amazon just don’t get it.
Like the new Amazon Appstore. Great layout. Hope more developers release their products there. Trust Amazon and will continue to purchase apps there.
