A new promo image from Best Buy takes a cheap shot at the iPad 2, pitting it up against ASUS’ newest contribution to the Android world. The Eee Pad Transformer has gotten a lot of attention over the past week, and anticipation seems to only heighten as everyone waits for a release date to be announced. Unlike the XOOM the Transformer hits the Apple hard with exceptional hardware and very competitive pricing.With the many upcoming new comers to the Android tablet scene is seems none seek to battle the iPad on the pricing front, which the Transformer seems to be doing being offered at the sub $400 to $500 range. Add a keyboard dock and extended battery life to the equation and you have a clear home-run.

As a current Asus Eee Slate owner, this image is very spot on! Yes, mine has windows on it, but, the computing power is what Hong for in portable solutions. Already have my Linux distro on there though. Long story longer: Asus makes excellent machines. Screw Micro-apple!
