I'm an avid technology lover. My first Android device was a G1; I fell in love (except for the battery), next I got a Samsung Captivate; error in judgment on my behalf, now I've moved on to the MyTouch 4G; which I absolutely love. What started with me just needing some kind of phone to use, i.e. free G1, ended with a new addiction.... I also enjoy long walks on the beach and luxurious bubble baths.... Oh wait.

I’m in Canada and I reeeaaallly want this phone. I have family in Seattle and they can ship it to me. What are my options? Can I buy this without a contract?

    • tim, you can buy this on TONS of websites already for $540 (no contract) search for lg optimus 2x, or, you can wait until friday and order it on the t-mobile website for $500 no contract. both of your choices are quad band so pretty much any carrier around

      • Tim

Thanks roger l. If I can get it off the T-Mobile website for $500 no contract, then that’s what I think I’ll do. If I’m not mistaken, I think there are two main differences between the LG Optimus 2X and the T-Mobile G2x: the G2x has extra HSPDA bands that the Optimus 2x don’t (compare on GSM arena) and the G2x has vanilla Android and not LG software. I think these features make it worth while waiting.

    • Tim

It’s now listed wirefly without a contract at $529.99. This appears to be my best option so far. It’s also on the walmart website, but for $550.

  2. Wow!

    Just ordered!!!
