One of the biggest complaints with new the new devices we seek out is the price. Take the XOOM for instance, at launch, unless sporting a  nifty discount coupon, you would ahve been out $800. Granted it was the first of it’s kind and entitled Motorola to a completely cornered market, it was still a nice chuck of change to part with.

Kogan, an Australian based company, has annouced two new devices to the Android world, the Agora 7″ tablet and Agora TV Portal. Both products, besides running Froyo, offer something huge to the current market aggressive pricing. The new Agora 7″ tablet will start at $139 with the TV Portal starting at $149.

When I say “start at” it may infer the availability of more than one version, this is not the case. Kogan has a unique business model that seeks to offer you their products for the best price available. They do this by offering you the option of purchasing the products directly from the factory through their online website. In doing that they eliminate the extra charges often tacked on when outside retailers sale a product. While this is not to say that their products aren’t available at sotre at some point or another, the faster you purchase them the lower the price you pay. Check out the sketchy video below, they explain this in a much more entertaining way.

I'm an avid technology lover. My first Android device was a G1; I fell in love (except for the battery), next I got a Samsung Captivate; error in judgment on my behalf, now I've moved on to the MyTouch 4G; which I absolutely love. What started with me just needing some kind of phone to use, i.e. free G1, ended with a new addiction.... I also enjoy long walks on the beach and luxurious bubble baths.... Oh wait.

Is this website legit I’ve wanted a cheap tablet and this would be awesome? Has anyone bought it and received it, how is it?

If you look at their website you will see it isn’t expected to be available until the end of May. There isn’t any info about shipping outside Australia though they do have a web store for the UK. It looks pretty good though. Google “Agora” for their website.
