T-Mobile G2X Gingerbread – “You won’t have to wait long.”

G2xGB

Among other news rolling out this weekend, T-Mobile made an announcement that seems to solidify initial thoughts pertaining to a Gingerbread update for their newest flagship, the G2X. Beyond any problems that may be going on now, it seemed the only disappointing thing heard from the many fans when referring to this was the lack of Gingerbread. When confronted with this question the only thing that could be obtained was the answer always given when asked about an update for any device “this device will be updated.” Among the many manufacturers and carriers this answer is simply not taken the way it’s intended to be, with the many problems as of late with companies such as Samsung, Motorola, and Sony, no one wants to here that statement without a date.

While these problems may be present among all the carriers the one that always seems to come through for the fans is almost always T-Mobile. Although this is not to say that their updates are always spot on, as you may recall the vibrant incident, however on average they seem to get them out reasonably. There’s little reason to believe that they wouldn’t follow through with the update, especially seeing as they started testing the Gingerbread update long before the phone was actually released. I find one thing amusing about this whole thing, cyanogen and a few TeamDouche members have purchased this phone. Will the first working version of Gingerbread be a T-mobile official build, or will it be CyanogenMod 7?

I'm an avid technology lover. My first Android device was a G1; I fell in love (except for the battery), next I got a Samsung Captivate; error in judgment on my behalf, now I've moved on to the MyTouch 4G; which I absolutely love. What started with me just needing some kind of phone to use, i.e. free G1, ended with a new addiction.... I also enjoy long walks on the beach and luxurious bubble baths.... Oh wait.
