It’s been along trip to an official Gingerbread release for Verizon’s Droid X. After leaks, support pages, and rumors an actual ETA was kept under wraps. All that was changed this weekend, for some people, and following that news it seems the Droid X isn’t the only phone in the “Droid” line getting a visit from the Gingerbread fairy.
Reports rolling out among a few Droid Pro users suggest that this Blackberry-like phone has also started receiving a Gingerbread update of its own. The update it seems is only available to a select few, and has not been announced as of yet. If this update is fully released the Droid 2 would be the only phone in this line of phones awaiting an update. If recent news is any indication shouldn’t be a long wait.
