Motorola Xprt Updated to 2.3.3 Two Days Before its Official Release

Last week we informed everyone of some new information on a Sprint device called the Motorola Xprt. This device is Sprints version of the Motorola Droid Pro.

Today our Sprint source informed us that the Motorola Xprt was updated to Android 2.3.3 with Motoblur. This is great news for users who will be getting this phone. This is most likely due to the Motorola Droid Pro just receiving the same update.

So if you plan on picking up this device, you will have a nice present waiting for you as soon as you turn it on and connect to Sprint’s network.

FALSE! It does NOT have the update yet. Please reveal your source.

WOW! Maybe Bryce should confirm info from his obviously unreliable sources BEFORE going public with it. Still no 2.3 update for XPRT.

Just talked to my source at Sprint. The Update is ready, they have it on demo devices, as well as their Reps devices. Moto/Sprint just haven’t rolled out the OTA yet. Source is going to try to get a system dump next time the rep comes in.

I’ve been holding the Motorola Xprt (MB612) since August 2, 2011, and I can tell you that this model was NOT upgraded to Android Gingerbread (2.3.3). My phone information shows Android v.2.2.2.

So, I’m also wondering where this update information is coming from. Looks to me to be someone leaked MISinformation from where I sit….

Is this ever going to be released?

apparently NOT .. I’m going to switch to either Samsung or iPhone next time I upgrade .. this Motorola ‘whatever you buy is what you’re stuck with forever’ policy has pissed me off for the last time ..

It’s now going on almost a year since this was written, still no update. Nice job with the article Bryce!

you guys do realize this is a Moto Phone right….they have a record of pulling updates. And yes, I do verify all of my sources. Think you can do a better job/ Guess what; AS is hiring writers. :)

    • Cory says:

Do we have any more news on the update?

Do you have any more news on the update?

    • Geoff says:

well you should pull this story then if it is false information. Granted we cant guess the industry… but when everyone searches for droid xprt 2.3.3 this site comes up 5 times in a row and has false information from 2011.

Ive been contacted about testing the beta 2.3.3 xprt about 3 weeks ago but I havent heard anything since. So it could be soon… but Moto is being slow and cautious about it. After all this is a business suited phone and I bet they dont want to rock the business stability world much. Vs a consumer phone they would update the heck out of.

It has been a long time. Information changes and posts stay up. At the time of Bryce writing this, our source said it was set to happen. Sometimes things change. Apparently this did and it didn’t happen. We can only provide the information we receive from people we think we can trust.

FALSE – not true.. as of Jun 8 2012, the XPRT operating system is 2.2.1 (Froyo) , this according to Sprint level 3 support.

  11. RRRoark says:

I got mine about a month ago and it shows 2.2.2 installed and no update available
