Earlier today we received an email from one of our PR contacts about a Social News Reader called Taptu, and that it was being upgraded with some new features.
This is the first I have heard of the application, so I hopped onto my G2x and loaded up the Android Market and did a quick search for Taptu.
Taptu allows you to have over 1000 news feeds all on 1 interface; allows side scrolling, and has Facebook News Feed integration.

Now Taptu will display suggested streams that include Taptu’s curated Basketball and Miami Heat streams as well as The Miami Herald’s Miami Heat blog and the Bleacher Report, since they both provide wide coverage of news related to James.

Additional stream settings let customers hide photos or to display different sized images. Article pages have also been given a layout makeover, delivering full-sized photos and bigger headlines. Individual streams can be quickly refreshed now by scrolling them to the right.

Taptu 1.5 adds related article discovery to the Android app, which has quickly become one of the most popular features on Taptu for iPad. While reading a popular story on Android, customers are given a list of related stories from a similar source or similar topic.

We are also given the option to add our Twitter feed to the stream. This makes it a all in one app for all of your news needs. I will definitely be using this application more throughout the week, just to see what else it has to offer.
