[Video] Gingerbread Shown Off for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

It’s been a long road for Xperia X10 owners, having been stuck with Android 1.6 for a vast majority of its life and only recently making the leap to Android 2.1. It’s about time Sony get with the times, and if the video of below of a Gingerbread 2.3 running on an X10 is any indication, they may have finally done just that.

As you can see by the video the new firmware brings more than just Gingerbread, adding a new kernel, 10 million color support, and hopefully, if recent policy changes hold true, an unlocked bootloader. Although nothing has come from Sony suggesting an update we at least now the software exists, at any rate it’s only a matter of time before a dev or Sony themselves gets the ball rolling.

I'm an avid technology lover. My first Android device was a G1; I fell in love (except for the battery), next I got a Samsung Captivate; error in judgment on my behalf, now I've moved on to the MyTouch 4G; which I absolutely love. What started with me just needing some kind of phone to use, i.e. free G1, ended with a new addiction.... I also enjoy long walks on the beach and luxurious bubble baths.... Oh wait.
