I already posted my initial impressions of the HTC Sensation and then followed up with some crazy video camera testing. I would still like to do a better write up of the amazing HTC Sensation too, but for now here’s a video review of the device to give a quick look. The device released with a locked bootloader but HTC has said they will release an update in the near future that will unlock the device and allow the community developers to create some custom ROM goodness.
This device is amazing and has one the nicest displays HTC has released to date. This is the device we’ve been all been waiting for and is now available from T-Mobile.
Here’s a quick run-down of the specs:
- 3G Data Speeds-Yes, Where Available

love my sensation
so this T-mobile Sensation come with 4gb rom ? i thought it’s 1gb ??? could you please clarify
Thanks,
Drew
yes please. same question
Sense UI uses the rest of the memory.
4 gig rom but only 1.2gig is accessible to the user internally.
Sense UI 3.0 is HEAVY and uses almost 3GB of the 4GB available
4gb ROM, 1 gb accessible to user for app installation.
I updated the Memory specs. Should be clearer now. Hope this is now correct.
But its:
768mb RAM
Built-In 4GB ROM
1GB Usable Storage
jesus, i wonder how long there gonna dick around to release that unlock for the bootloader, cuz i cant buy this phone till it gets CM7, i cant do the whole Sense shit, no way
doesnt this have ATT 3G bands on it also? Correct me if Im wrong. I hope, incase of the switch over, i would love to keep my current T-Mobile plan without goin to ATT bullshit and test there waters if the merge happens, probably will. not that im for it. but i would like to try it out, or curious.
I’ve been using CMod for so long, how many apps support apps to SD nowadays without a MOD? I just wish HTC would start putting a solid amount of app storage on their phones.
Love my sensation too.. would love it more if i could find a way to make Launcher Pro work on it. Have tried home switcher and others but can’t keep LP as default home. Anyone else trying to make this happen?
not really impress been using it for about 5 days .. qhd cool and all but make everything small and no way to increase font size.. try recording a video inside of a club,, sounded horrible.. thunderbolt handles high volume recording much better.. phone gets a bit sluggish after some hardcore using.. texts/mms/browsing etc etc.. camera shiooting its not as fast as htc claims .. same speed as the tbolt.. yea.. for better shooting speed turn off preview and auto focus… there is a bug on the messenger.. when phone syncing and u try to text sometimes the conversation just go up to very beginning lol wtf.. imagine scrolling down again 700 texts? lol
[...] Although the HTC Sensation 4G hasn’t even been on the market a month yet we’re already started to see special promotions roll out. This time it’s Wirefly, still reeling from their Independence day sale, now offering the HTC Sensation 4G for $130. Of course said offer only applies to those willing to to sign a new two-year contract and is not for those simply upgrading. With other retailers still offering this device at $200 this is quite a deal. Not convinced? Check out our hands on review. [...]
