HTC Desire Gingerbread Build Loses Some Weight – Apps Being Cut for Space

0

The HTC Desire’s story is full of ups and downs.  Owners first heard of an update coming long ago, after months of waiting they were met by an announcement stating that the Desire update would be impossible due to the devices allotted memory. Of course this angered more than a few people and a vast majority of them didn’t even have Desires. Upon the public outcry HTC recanted it’s decision and once again continued development on the Desire’s Gingerbread build.

Having said that the Desire didn’t have enough memory to run Android 2.3 and Sense UI, one would think this would be a lost cause. However a recent statement suggests that HTC has finally come up with a plan to do go through with the update without having to cripple anything. We would say expect your update soon, but this would be the third time the Desire was slated to receive this same update. I think it’s better to wait and see what happens before anyone gets too excited.

I'm an avid technology lover. My first Android device was a G1; I fell in love (except for the battery), next I got a Samsung Captivate; error in judgment on my behalf, now I've moved on to the MyTouch 4G; which I absolutely love. What started with me just needing some kind of phone to use, i.e. free G1, ended with a new addiction.... I also enjoy long walks on the beach and luxurious bubble baths.... Oh wait.
