As we’ve seen many times in the past with Froyo for the Samsung Captivate, before it’s release, the new Gingerbread test ROMs have started emerging. While the original Galaxy S i9000 has already seen numerous leaks and a few various updates, we’re just starting to see Gingerbread leaks for the US variants.
The leaks in question for the Captivate are both loaded with AT&T bloatware and are dated May 26, 2011 and June 8th, 2011. With the more recent addressing fixes in the other. For those seeking official HSUPA support, the wait continues as neither update enables it. It’s likely that the users that would actually try the new firmware are already running Gingerbread in some form thanks to developers and the similarities between all the GSM Galaxy phones.
It should be noted that this is merely a test build so it’s likely that you may see glitches or stability issues upon long term use. That being said we know a vast majority want the latest and greatest so hit up the source link below to grab a copy.

I highly recommend DG’s Cognition 5 ginger release, very quick and stable, even though its considered a beta.
