A Verizon wireless insider sent AndroidandMe some scoop on the soon to be released update for the HTC Thunderbolt. The source claims, via the leaked screenshots, that the update should be released June 30th. What’s more of a surprise is that the update is supposedly going include Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, pre-installed Amazon Appstore, Skype video functionality, and gTalk video compatibility. Obviously this isn’t the main reason people are eagerly awaiting this update. The main reason is to fix the issues that have been plaguing users since the phones release. Random reboots have been the main complaint.
Rumors that Verizon and HTC had been working on a fix for this reboot issues have been floating around for a while now, and this looks like the fix is almost upon us.
This is a leaked document, so we just have to assume it’s legit. The informant did also state that there could obviously be minor changes to the release before it hits the consumer.
Here’s the screen shot that AndroidandMe received from their secret source!
