[UPDATED] APK Included – The New Android Market; Additions of Movies, Books and More

39

Life is about to get a whole easier when perusing the never ending Android Market we all love to hate and hate to love. Today VIA Googlemobile.blogspot, it was announced that the new Android Market is being launched over the coming weeks. All devices running Android 2.2 and above should see a new market magically appear when they least expect it.

The latest update will finally bring the U.S. patrons the ability to rent and download movies and include a new BOOK section to make reading on the go a breeze. Among other things, the layout has changed dramatically and they have added a more friendly UI. Google has created more space to provide featured applications and editors choice apps. With the incorporation of more top charts and the ability to swipe through the store, going to the market will be easy and fun again.

Take a look at the video demonstration they provided via YouTube of the New Market in action.

All I can saw is “WOW!” It’s about time we got an overhauled market, even if it does look a little Windowsphone 7ish. I’ll leave the color scheme changes to our remarkable themers.

I am the proud father of three, 3, 9, and 12. I recently upgraded from the Samsung Galaxy S3 to the Sony Xperia Z. Having so many kids warranted a change of pace. Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

Looks cool. Some screens reminded me a little of the Amazon App Store. Also like the review mentioned it slightly resembles WP7 but I think that comes also because of the new Google branding which is more clean and clear. Hope it trickles down to my phone soon.

yea i dont kno how to feel about the whole windows Zune/WP7 side swipe menus up top, i dont like it, but as long as they keep it simple with 3 menus, it wont be bad, not like Windows when your ass is swiping thru 20 categories, lol

and yea double take it looks like WP7 with the color tiles, eh, but atleast it is more colorful and flashy unlike windows,

Using the Samsung Galaxy Indulge..it worked for me just fine. It does resemble WP7 but I do really like it. Still a little leery about the Google Books app..I read the reviews and people have had issues uninstalling it.

Desire HD, In UK downloaded fine but is displaying an error message when I open: Authentication required. Please log in to your google account

this eventually stopped but the app is running very very slow and has no movie option as it is not available here yet.

I assume a working UK version will roll out soon enough.
