I generally steer clear of any website that is offering an alternative market concept to the Android Market. I could see its importance when paid apps weren’t available world wide. Now that they are, I don’t really see the point. Sometimes international devices and off brands don’t have the Market available at all. That is where a secondary market might come in handy. They could also just get Google’s approval and keep things nice and simple for everyone.

It’s not an alternative market but rather, it displays apps that have been SPECIFICALLY designed for tablets then links them back to the Android Market. Many devs claim their apps are optimized for tablets but in truth, they simply mean the app now stretches to fill the screen on a tablet-that’s far from being optimized. None of this “optimized” nonsense here. Each app is tested to make sure that it is actually designed for tablets; meaning the UI has been enhanced in some way to take advantage of the large display. It’s definitely worth a look. Thanks!

That was the direct email I received last night from Ayman. When it is put like that, I had to take a look and see for myself what they had set up. Everything is on the up and up. If you navigate your browser to tablified.com you can see what I mean.

An additional service they provide is a ‘Submit an App” section.  This is where you can send in a market link to an app that you would like them to fully test out. After they run through the app and determine if it is truly optimized for tablet use. They will post the app up on the site and notify you of the results and if it worth the install on your tablet.

If you are always worried if an app runs well and is made for tablet use, look no further then tablified.com. They are doing a great job so far, aren’t asking for money or any profit from apps at all and all links take you directly to Android Market. The only thing I see this site doing is all the leg work for the consumers to get the most out of their tablets.
