I sometime wonder how we ever managed to survive with out Google in our lives. How different do you think things would be if it was Lougle instead. (You know what I mean.) This handy little ability is over on the left hand side of the account tucked neatly inside your GChat/GTalk section. I never really thought about using it in my email account before. It sure would have been handy while my cell service was suspended.

For the lesser informed, there is also an Android App for this. It provides you with cheap international calls, transcribed VM and sending and receiving free SMS. It is a pretty wicked service. Plus you get a secondary number attached to your device. This solves many issues for many people. You can port a number into Google Voice or get a new number. Use it for what ever you want.

Application: Google Voice
Developer: Google Inc.
Cost: FREE

I use my Google number with Google voice which also is my voice mail service (including transcription) and my text program as well – all consolidated in one program. Don’t forget its dedicated webpage voice.Google.com Check everything on your phone or computer, it’s all there.
Sadly not available in the UK still. Come on goggle…….. Share the joy

It isn’t actually available worldwide. what you can do is make calls to just about anywhere around the world from the US, but that isn’t really the same thing as being available worldwide. however international readers pay attention. If you dont mind shelling out for a vpn service to make it look like your computer is in the US it is possible that you could get a Google voice account and save substantially if your typical international/local calls typically cost you more than the vpn service. (when I say shelling out I really don’t mean shelling out, I don’t think vpn services cost that much.)
