There is no question that people love the MIUI ROM’s that are out there. They have a unique style and design that has been widely sought after by many. In order to enjoy all that MIUI can offer you must be rooted and have at least a basic understanding of flashing custom ROMs to your device. Not to mention finding a MIUI ROM that is compatible with the device you have. That can sometimes be a trick and very time consuming. There is another option though. The same company that brought us the QQLauncher Pro, also has another launcher app in the market. It is called 腾讯桌面…. Ya, don’t go looking for it. We do however have some great people in the community that do the extra work to bring it to us in English.
XDA member Quinny899 has taken this MIUI style launcher and has done all the translation for us using uzitech’s Android Translator. NOw we know the app is called Tencent Desktop. Hooray for translator apps. Take a look at some screen shots.

I have been alternating between this one and QQLauncher PRO for two days now. I have never been a huge fan of MIUI and its iPhoneish style, but it seems to work extremely well on my Vibrant. If you are interested in picking this up and giving at whirl on your device, bounce over to Quinny899′s XDA thread for download links. It is a simple APK so no trickery on installing this home replacement.

I just paid $ 23.86 for an iPhone and my girlfriend loves her Dell laptop that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 665 which only cost me $ 62,81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com
I really prefer either GoLauncherEX or QQLauncher Pro over this… I found it laggy… I even uninstalled the other launchers and rebooted and still… so I’m back to GLEX and QQ as backup because QQ gave me folder issues ¬¬ but hey they are Free! Why complain and whine about it! Thanks for the review!
This is like putting some nice sheet metal on a Yugo and calling it a Porsche. The whole point of MIUI is NOT the “look”, it is the powerhouse of a ROM that comes with it. There is no ROM out there that packs as much as MIUI. This is a nice launcher for the casual user, but please don’t try and correlate using this launcher with actually running MIUI.
I’d be inclined to disagree with js. MIUI is beautiful, but lags quite a bit on older phones (and even on some newer ones.) On lower memory devices such as the Motorola Droid or devices which don’t have a MIUI port available, this is a great alternative.
