Person media players (PMP’s) started to take a life of their own when Apple brought the iPod touch to the scene. Offering all the same goodies as an iPhone with out the need for a carrier contract. The most recent carrier that started to try and do the same thing was Samsung. They released their PMP version of a Galaxy S device. There are a few more styles available around the internet such as the Archos 28 internet tablet. Granted that is being marketed as an internet tablet, it is still, in my opinion, a PMP device that is priced very well.

Still no word on is this wicked little device will ever make it stateside or to any other area besides Japan. The thought of such a powerful non-carrier based Android PMP is a nice thought though. I hope more companies try and bring more affordable devices to consumers that aren’t interested in a buying a phone and data plan.
