After Spotify was announced for the U.S. they let people trickle in the same way Google Plus did, invite only. Everyone was clamoring for an invite to this excellent service and many are still trying to get their invite. For those of you have been waiting and waiting, the wait is finally over. You can now get yourself in the door with out the need for an invite. To top it all off, they are also offering new users a FREE 6 months of service. As you may know, Spotify is already FREE to use, but with limitations. In order to fully unlock the service you need to upgrade to a premium account. Once you get in the door you will get 6 months of free premium service.
All of us that are already in, the free 6 months of service is supposed to be retro active to current subscribers. How and where you take advantage of that is beyond me. I have already searched through my account for it and can’t find a magic button. I also jumped over to their web page to see if I could find a generic sign up page that didn’t require an invite first. I wasn’t able to find one. This information came from a reliable source though, Alexia from TechCrunch. She was talking with Spotify CEO Daniel Ek and he told her this new and wonderful information. Was this a pre-leak kinda thing and they haven’t really added the options yet? Or was he just full of it?
