Skype makes a nice update, 14 new devices added and landscape Mode

Skype just updated their Android app today moving it to version 2.5.0.108. The latest update brings the addition of 14 new white listed device including official support for 3 tablets. The update also enables landscape mode for your video calls. If I remember correctly, that was definitely a highly requested feature. Skype also made improvements for Bluetooth support, the ability to edit and delete IM messages and finally killed the app from auto signing in after you signed out.

I am glad to see Skype continuing to improve its handset and tablet support. Since I don’t have a FFC on my Vibrant, I haven’t had much of a chance to give it a try. Check out the full list of newly added devices below -

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (T-Mobile)
HTC SHOOTER (KDDI)
Sony Ericsson Xperia Live with Walkman
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V
Acer Iconia Tablet (A500)
LG Optimus Black LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 3D LANDSCAPE ONLY
LG Optimus 2x LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Photon
Motorola Droid3 LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Bionic LANDSCAPE ONLY
Motorola Xoom
Motorola Atrix

I think I am still more likely to use Google+ Hangouts if I had a FFC. You guys still using Skype? What do you think of the latest update?

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
