Ever since Honeycomb was released as the newest Android OS, we all got super excited, but were then slowly led to disappointment when it wasn’t going to appear on our phones. We all sighed and realized we would have to wait for the next OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. Well that didn’t stop the developers out there from themeing up your current Gingerbread OS by adding the look and feel of Honeycomb to your device. One of the frequent requests, that yours truly and many other Android flashers wanted, was getting that pretty honeycomb lock screen onto our devices. The closest I ever came to that was flashing a zip file to change the framework on my CM7 lock screen where it just had the 2 glowing circles but unlocked the exact same way it always did. There were also two apps released on the market that I found called ripple lock and lockbot. They were OK, but just didn’t satisfy me. Well friends, skimming through the MIUI theme forums I stumbled onto a honeycomb lock screen that I think is prettier than the rest. Only thing is you have to flash a MIUI ROM to your phone first. You already knew that though, right?

Okay, your having difficulties saying good-bye to CM7. I did too. Stormy had to persuade me into trying MIUI and I’ll admit it, I was scared. I sound cheesy right now, but we grow a close relationship to our phones and as much as we might theme them to death, changing the entire software to something else is a big step. GET OVER IT! MIUI is awesome! Yes, it doesn’t have an app drawer but you can still put whatever launcher you want onto it. After doing that it, it won’t even feel like a big change. I got used to it right away and then of course had to thank Stormy for telling me to do it, he said the “I told you so” speech and now I’m going to have to believe him whenever he says to try something. Oh the horror.

Now back to what this article is really about. This lock screen immediately caught my eye when I saw the screenshots. That pretty blue that it has, is not fully like honeycomb, but for all you blue theme lovers out there I’m sure you will like it. I’ve been through many of the MIUI lock screens since we have converted to it. I’m pretty sure I’m going to stick with this one for quite a while.
