There are times that a company can really see the potential for making emulation on other devices or on a PC a worthy business decision. BlueStacks is working to make the your love for Android and you Windows machine come together as one.
They just announced their Alpha version of their app player for Windows today. The application will allow you to do that one thing that we have all been aching to do for a very long time, play our favorite Android games and utilize your favorite apps on our PC’s. Did I stutter? This is quite possibly the coolest idea ever to land on our door steps. The word on the street is that the developing community is extremely excited for this new application and so are computer manufacturers. There are even rumors that some companies are in talks to pre-load the software to their machines. Just imagine taking Zenonia 3 from your 4.3″ screen to your 22″ LCD. The possibilities for this application are endless.
If that isn’t exciting enough, they also coupled the announcement with a second one. BlueStacks Cloud Connect. This service will allow you to connect your Android powered device directly to your PC so that you can sync your apps with between the PC and your phone. Which if I am understanding it correctly, means you can share your apps between both device and pick up game play where you left off from your device on your PC.
This is still an Alpha build, so don’t expect it to work perfectly yet. There are still limitations. Integrating keyboard access and a mouse can be a little tricky when coming from a full touch screen experience. Hopefully it will all get worked out and be a great experience. It currently doesn’t have full market support, but it does have a fair selection of applications loaded and ready to give you a good idea of what it can do. If this takes off, hopefully it can open up a whole new world of applications and games that you will be able to purchase. Giving developers access to a whole new community of users and profits. I can see some devs making games and applications specifically for this technology. BlueStacks Announces Cloud Connect Service
Connects Android Phones and Windows PCs
CAMPBELL, Calif. – October 11, 2011 – BlueStacks today announced CloudConnect, a cloud-based service that enables a Windows PC to become an extension of an Android mobile device and vice versa. With Cloud Connect, any application on an Android device can be accessed and enjoyed on a user’s PC with a simple click and sync.
Users can download the free Cloud Connect App from the Android Market and instantly sync their mobile apps to a PC for big-screen enjoyment of their favorite games, news portals and more. A custom “Apps Channels” page allows users to manage their apps in the cloud by easily viewing which apps have been downloaded to their phone, PC or tablet. In addition, a “Featured Apps Channel” provides direct access to the latest available apps from developers.
