Verizon updates its Privacy Policy, you are opted-in by Default

One of the biggest concerns not only with Android, but any device, is the safety and privacy of your information. Information such as what websites you visit and even the location of your device are often sent off to Google or your carrier, such as Verizon. They say it is strictly for marketing purposes to help provide their customers with more targeted ads and information. They also say that nothing personal is ever collected, such as your name or phone number. What makes this even better is the fact that the information they collect is also up for grabs to third-party companies.

I really don’t have anything against them collecting data, but at the same time, it is none of their business where I am or what websites I visit. The really scary part is they are doing this automatically. By default your account is set to collect data. It is somewhere in your T&S agreement that you signed that way it is your fault and not Verizon’s. You have a choice in the matter, or so they say. You never really know if they actually stop collecting or not. You can go into you online Verizon account and opt-out.. You will want to look for ‘Don’t use my information.’
