Android Market and Google Apps installed on Amazon Kindle Fire

1

One of the only things that was a big let down to me about the Kindle Fire was no Android market access. There is no reason they would want to offer the market to their tablet, after all they are hoping to make back profit loss on sales up in the Amazon AppStore. If you have ever checked out their market, there are a lot apps that cost that are free in the Android market and with Google now offering music, at a considerable price drop from Amazon, they wouldn’t be able to make any money. Any Android users that is looking to pick up one of these tablets will do so with the hopes for root and a custom ROM allowing market access. Well, we know we have root, source dropped so custom ROM’s are around the corner and now we find out the market can be installed right along with all your favorite Google applications.

We located some very great information of the process and all thing required over in XDA. The Dev that put it all together has had no issues with installing all the things we love about Android to his Kindle Fire. Some of the comments suggest that others are having issues primarily with the market showing up or working at all. If you are willing to give it a shot, which is at your own risk of course, head on over to Jolleyboy’s XDA thread to see what all you can install and how to go about doing it.

Thanks a ton for this Jolleyboy!

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
