Great news for the Android development community. The
Galaxy Nexus has achieved perm-root status thanks to XDA member
paulobrien, who has devised a method that will allow all you lucky SOB’s who got a G-Nex to obtain permanent root and all the freedom that comes along with it. The “fix” is rather simple to apply, as it requires n0 knowledge of ADB, or anything even remotely related to your memory partitions. This should make the fear of rooting your newly acquire tool subside, as the process is nowhere near what it used to be (
though, it’s never been all that hard). Basically, all you have to do is flash the insecure boot.img to your device, sit back, relax and let the tool do its magic on its own. Once rebooted, say goodbye to restriction and hello to permanent root. For all the info you’ll need to get yourself going, make sure to check out Paul’s
original thread.

Android addict would be the two words I would use to describe myself. It’s the first thing I check in the morning, and the last thing I check before bed. I’m 30 years old, my first Android phone was the G1, shortly after its launch. I have also owned a myTouch 3G, and I have a myTouch 4G, which I am absolutely in love with. Other than Android, I’m a father, brother, college student, and almost-full-time employee at a local brewery/restaurant here in the cornfields of Iowa. If there’s anything you’d like to know, please feel free to hit me up. I’m a pretty nice guy, and I respond as quickly as I can. Thanks for stopping by!

Uhhh, nexus devices are perm rooted ootb…fastboot oem unlock…
No, they have unlocked bootloaders so it doesn’t require an exploit to flash a new system/boot/recovery img. That doesn’t mean that they come rooted, you still need to set adb to “insecure” mode, install su, etc.
