It didn’t take long for the
Kindle Fire to take hold in the market. Being a decent budget tablet with an Android back end made it appealing to the tech enthusiasts as well as the average Joe pretty quickly. Root was achieved fairly quickly and it didn’t take long for devs to start bringing in the Market and other various aspects of Android we all love. The next logical step was for the CyanogenMOD team to get some
CM7 dumped onto it. Of course we all want to see
CM9 land on it eventually, but that will probably be a distant project.
Even though the device is booted up and successfully running CM7, it still has its issues. WiFi is up and running but touchscreen input problems are holding it back considerably. They are working on it like they always do. These guys never give up. If there is a way to make it all work, they will figure it out for us.
