Just as Google vowed, the OTA update for the Galaxy Nexus, which squashes that nasty little volume bug our UK friends were experiencing, is now starting to roll out. The 1MB OTA brings the G-Nex build up to ITL41F, but the Android system version remains at 4.0.1. If you’ve itched for a fix, head over to Settings > About phone > System updates to grab the file. Keep in mind, the patch is still in the process of rolling out. This means you might not have an update waiting the first time you check. I’d suggest checking back every few hours — sooner or later it should pop up.
Now, I know a lot of your are impatient. Heck, so am I — if I had a Galaxy Nexus and it was experiencing issues, I’d be just as anxious to get it fixed — I feel your pain. Apparently the guys over at AndroidCentral were impatient too, as they’ve managed to develop a workaround that will allow you to get the fix now, without having to play the waiting game.
Have you already gotten your OTA? Awesome! Drop us a comment and let us know if your dreaded volume issue is a thing of the past.
