A new version of the Galaxy Nexus, dubbed the GT-i9250T, stopped by the FCC yesterday. This new variant supports 3G radio frequencies of 850MHz and 1,900MHz, but not the 1,700MHz band of the current HSPA+ version. This could mean the G-Nex will show up on AT&T, and that Ma Bell is doing what they can to keep its customers with the phone from jumping ship to the T-Mobile Network.
There’s always the chance that this could be a mysterious new Canadian version, but that’s highly unlikely, as carriers like Mobilicity and Wind use the 1,700MHz band, meaning they’d be left out of the party, and I’m not quite sure they’d allow such a thing to happen. They know this phone is a hot commodity, and they want a piece just like everyone else.
The phone is expected to drop sometime in the next 10 days, but we’ll have to wait and see. We’ve heard squat from AT&T about the Galaxy Nexus just yet, so I think it’s better to just file this under “noted” and wait til something more solid comes in. While you’re waiting, why not head over to the AndroidSPIN Forums and introduce yourself, if you haven’t already?

Why are they building more phones with different radios? The GSM one works ANYWHERE. And why is it i9025T shouldn’t it be i9025A following the Nexus S naming conventions? That original Nexus dream sure is dead.
Just because the 1700 MHz band isn’t listed in this FCC filing does not mean its not there, a few recent tmobile phones went thru the FCC the first that comes to mind is the MyTouch 4G Slide, eye also not forget that a version of the Nexus came thru the FCC with the 1700 MHz band.
