The Galaxy Nexus got its first custom ROM yesterday evening. The project, entitled “Android Revolution HD,” comes to us from mike1986 on RootzWiki, and brings to the table a slew of optimization and performance enhancements — including one that’s sure to make you drool — EXT4 file system support. You may have heard of it, it’s fairly common among Linux distributions. In this scenario, picture EXT4 as a super turbocharger for your phone. It makes everything snappier and more responsive.
Speed and stability is the name of the game here, so if you’ve itched for something to flash since you got your hands on the G-Nex, look no further — from what I can tell, this is the real deal. Of course, that’s strictly based on hearsay, as I’m not fortunate enough to own a Nexus. Stormy — this is your cue — I’ll take one unlocked GSM version, and I expect it no later than next week, boss. (It’s worth a try, right?)
For all the information you need and the download link to the file, head on over to the ROM’s Community Release page. Remember, even though this ROM is labeled as clean and stable, always make a backup — just to be safe. It’s better to have a backup and not need it than to need a backup and not have one.
