ADW Launcher EX in today’s ten apps for 10 Cents

Today is day 3 of the ten apps for 10 cents promotion by Google. We all know why it is happening so I will spare you the repeat information. Today’s apps are definitely better than yesterdays in my opinion. The big one that I have been waiting for, ADW Launcher EX is up for .10 cents. It has been a while since we were excited about ADW. AnderWeb hadn’t made an update to it in a long time. Thankfully, he made some huge updates on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. Giving the launcher a major overhaul.

With out further ado though, here is the list of apps that you can snag for a lovely little dime today -

They still haven’t updated the main promo page just yet. We will update this post with the link to the markets list when it finally converts over. Until then, feel free to click on each app via the links above to download them individually.

Promo page updated with today’s latest apps. Head to the Android Market to view them all at once now.

Is ADWLauncher worth considering on my HTC Legend?
Presumably it would replace HTC Sense – are there any real advantages for an HTC user?
Is there a downside – like CPU use, battery drain, etc?
    Thanks!

    • For 10 cents it is definitely worth checking it out. Worst case is you only burned up a dime. I used to use ADW Launcher EX for the longest time. I have since moved on to other launchers and ultimately ended up back on stock for a while. Having a different launcher at your disposal is a fast and easy way to make your phone feel new.

As far as battery is concerned. I am not a personal fan of Sense at all. It is pretty though. ADW will give you a lot more customization but lacks the Sense widgets you are used too. There are a number of apps in the market that can give you that look or functionality back if you need them. Most launcher replacements don’t destroy speed or battery. AnderWeb and his ADW Launcher are top notch and shouldn’t even touch battery consumption at all. You will most likely end up with a faster home screen and layout then you current;y have.

Thanks SB for the detailed answer – really helpful thanks. I won’t miss the HTC widgets at all – they really can drain the battery and I there’s only so many clocks a guy needs! Besides, I got Beautiful Widgets for 10p yesterday, just for fun! I will definitely try ADW now.
