The MOTOACT is one of those odd, yet somewhat compelling little devices that we see no real need for, but just want to have for some reason. For the tech junkie it isn’t about what the device was designed for or able to do out of the box, it is what it can do and how to push the limits of the device. After all, it is running Android which means it can do more than what it was launched doing. Seems there is no limit to what these devs can get their grubby little codes cooking on.
Taking the fitness meter/music player/watch to a whole new level of enjoyment. CMW was able to exploit the OTA update code and files, extract a copy of the boot image and enable ADB in it. Flash it through fastboot (the bootloader isn’t locked), connect via ADB and a run a standard exploit against the system. There is a full instruction list located at CMW for you to take advantage of. You can even snag up the Google Apps from Cyanogen mod and get those loaded too. To top it of, looks like you can even play some Angry Birds on your wrist. Talk about pointlessly cool.
I bet Motorola never thought anything like this would happen to their lovely little fitness watch. Lets see if they leave this one alone or if they dump countless man hours into an update to block this. Good work Chris!!
I worked at T-Mobile for 5 years. I was the go to guy for Android phones and training. That passion didn't stop even after my departure from the company. I currently moved up from my MyTouch 3G to a Samsung Vibrant. A lot has changed in a very short time. I look forward to all the latest and greatest every time I wake up.

We know the Logitech Revue is not the king of the Google TV devices. That doesn’t mean they aren’t still worth something though. After Logitech decided to exit the Google TV game and dropped the Revue to $99.99, the...
Promises are promises. In the past, promises from manufactures didn’t mean squat. Take Motorola for example, they were supposed to unlock things a LONG time ago. We are still waiting, maybe now that Google owns them tha...
After China finally gave Google the proverbial thumbs up to go ahead with their acquisition of Motorola Mobility, the only thing left was to finalize the deal. We thought that might take at least till the end of the week. ...

Has there been any way to sync to non-moto phones? Id like to sync to my HTC, read text messages, see whos calling, change tracks all that. Im still waiting on a Android watch that was supposed to be out by now, so this is the closest.
“..one of those odd, yet somewhat compelling little devices that we see no real need for, but just want to have for some reason.” LMAO… sounds like what an Apple iDevice commercial should include.
LOL! I agree. It is though. It is a strange little thing that only a certain demographic will buy. Even though I would never use it for what it was intended for, I still want one.
