Looks like Christmas come…a couple days late. There is an alpha version of CM9‘s new Ice Cream Sandwich Launcher, “Trebuchet”, available for you to download onto your ICS ROM. Looks like a developer by the name nebkat has created a thread over at XDA to download the APK file. Now just remember this is an alpha version of the launcher, so it is not going to be up to par quite yet. Many of us were wondering what is going to be so different between this launcher and the stock launcher, so now we get a sneak peek of what is to come.

I, like a lot of you, have tried out Nova Launcher for my ICS ROM and that launcher definitely improves the stock ICS launcher, so I am curious on what the boys of CyanogenMod have done here. Give it a shot. Let us know what you guys think of it.

Its pretty vanilla at this point, but its really smooth on Passion V8 for Vibrant. I’m just happy to get rid of the persistent search bar. It has ton of potential, though. I’m sure it will be super awesome by the time CM9 is out.
