We can only hope that the streamline version will receive a new name by the time it gets around to landing on devices. Hopefully they can pull something descent off. I fear that it will just be a themed version of Android, offering the ICS blues and tints to Touch-Wiz. So much of what is ICS is locked into the AOSP code. Don’t expect to see the cool Rolodex widgets or task manager.
What is your thoughts on this potential approach? Is Samsung taking an easy way out to say ‘Something is better than nothing’? Looking for a little way to ease the pain of loyal Galaxy S owners? I know a Value Pack won’t make me happy in the slightest. Thankfully we have developers for taking over where the OEMs continuously fail.

The only reason I’d want Samsung to work on ICS for Galaxy Tab/S devices is so that the devs behind the CM9 port could get their hands on the actual kernel sources for these devices.
Exactly…I solely rely & support Developers. I actually choose what device I am getting based on source code & devs working on that device. Galaxy Tab was a gift.
Value Pack sounds like those batteries you buy in a 10 pack for 2.99 because you (“I” was) were to cheap to buy the two pack of Duracell AA batteries that actually cost $2.99.
I really don’t know why ICS for the Galaxy S is such an issue. AT&T just rolled out Froyo to us like 6 months ago. Do you actually think that we’ll ever really see Ice Cream Sandwich before we ever see Gingerbread?
