As I’m sure many of you are already aware, Rockstar Games recently released Grand Theft Auto III into the Android Market, and it quickly took over as the #1 paid application — and it’s not even available for a grip of devices yet. Over the past week, I’ve been lucky enough to have an HTC Amaze 4G in my possession to review (Thanks, Elena!), and GTA III is compatible with said device, so I figured what the hey — might as well pick it up while I have a phone that can actually run it, especially since it’s on sale for $2.99.
This is by no means a full blown review. I figured it would be a bit of overkill to do that, considering the game is 10 years old now, and there isn’t much new. That doesn’t mean it’s not fun to play on your Android though, and if you don’t believe me, just take a look at the video below:

Android addict would be the two words I would use to describe myself. It’s the first thing I check in the morning, and the last thing I check before bed. I’m 30 years old, my first Android phone was the G1, shortly after its launch. I have also owned a myTouch 3G, and I have a myTouch 4G, which I am absolutely in love with. Other than Android, I’m a father, brother, college student, and almost-full-time employee at a local brewery/restaurant here in the cornfields of Iowa. If there’s anything you’d like to know, please feel free to hit me up. I’m a pretty nice guy, and I respond as quickly as I can. Thanks for stopping by!
Those of you holding a Samsung Galaxy S II and keep YouTubing videos of the Galaxy S III that just makes your mouth water, can get a slight taste of what the new TouchWiz on the Galaxy S III has to offer. I know die hard Androi...

Promises are promises. In the past, promises from manufactures didn’t mean squat. Take Motorola for example, they were supposed to unlock things a LONG time ago. We are still waiting, maybe now that Google owns them tha...

Samsung said they were going to take the Galaxy S III global as fast as possible, but some of us were a little worried as to what that might mean for the U.S. Of course the possibilities of the SGSIII landing states side with...
Finally got ahold of this a few hours ago. Must say I had a heck of a time getting it too. Though it runs flawlessly on my SGSII T989, it is not listed as compatible on the market. All the hassle aside, I gotta admit, they did an amazing job of porting this title. You can tell they really took their time with it.
This title is a perfect example of what our beloved OS can do. If 1/4 the effort was put into the thousands of s*** games that half-assed wannabe aspiring developers “think” the world needs, Android could easily dominate the handheld gaming market. I mean damn, I hate to state the obvious and all, but most (And.) devices pack at least 3x the “power” of any dedicated handheld gaming system on the market.
Guess it’s just a nice change to see some major players like Rockstar take our platform seriously. Yeah, yeah, EA is a pretty darn major player, but from what we have all seen coming out of their camp; They couldn’t care less. Either they can’t grasp the fact that our devices are not “just phones”, or they need a whole new team that knows what they are doing.
Major game studios take note: Half cocked mobile versions just won’t cut it anymore.
Unless your goal is to have a disgruntled customer base, you should follow Rockstar’s example, and put some effort into your work.
