For those of you still a bit bummed out by the fact that Episode 1 never made its way to our beloved Android platform, a bit of good news was just announced today, by SEGA. It looks like they’ve been hard at work in the laboratory, cooking up Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, and have confirmed the game for launch on NVIDIA Tegra devices in early 2012. No specific time frame was given, but it’s great to see our speedy little blue buddy will be here in the near future.
Word also has it that there will be a cranked-up version of the game coming, specifically for quad-core Tegra 3 devices. For now, there’s only one such device on the market — the Asus Transformer Prime; however, CES 2012 is only a few days away and we’d be shocked if there aren’t at least a few more of those devices added to the list once the smoke clears. We’ll be there covering the event, so make sure to stay tuned for everything from that front in the coming days.
If you’ve got 30 seconds to spare, you might want to check out the official announcement video below. It sure is nice to see Sonic and Tails again, isn’t it? If you need something to hold you over, you can always try Sonic CD until Episode 2 makes its way into civilization.
