Galaxy Nexus ad pops up online, 4G LTE goodness labeled for Sprint

I never know what to think when an ad for something mysteriously pops up on a well know web site. Was it really by ‘accident’ or was it a planned ad to help get the bloggers posting about something big. One never knows since we can never get a true story out of anyone about the happenings behind the scenes. No matter the case, we are glad it happened. It looks like Sprint is prepping up their first 4G LTE phone for its customers. It is none other than the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The images that were snagged don’t offer too much information, but there is a tid-bit that stands out as different from the current device on Verizon and around the globe. Apparently, unless it is a misprint, the GNex on Sprint will be bumped up to 1.5GHz. I wonder what other adjustment they have made.

Sprint has some pretty big plans set into motion this year at CES. With CNET having promotional material like this already in hand we can only bet there will be an announcement next week to make it official. That just leaves us lonely T-Mobile and AT&T customers to wonder what the story is. Will either of us be getting a GNex device, or will we be passed by for something different. I can’t imagine they would stick to the SGS II and Skyrocket as their “Big Thing”.

I worked at T-Mobile for 5 years. I was the go to guy for Android phones and training. That passion didn't stop even after my departure from the company. I currently moved up from my MyTouch 3G to a Samsung Vibrant. A lot has changed in a very short time. I look forward to all the latest and greatest every time I wake up.

I really think Sprint won’t be getting the phone until they get more of their new LTE up and running.
