CES 2012: Polaroid Announces Android Powered Smart Camera

0

As I was sitting here manning my post as Stormy and Tony have fun playing with toys, I have been keeping up with CES coverage on Spike TV. One unveiling that came way out of left field was from Polaroid. Polaroid being one of the oldest camera companies, brought their A-game by announcing their new smart camera powered by Android. This 16-megapixel SC1630 Smart Camera features a 3x optical zoom lens, 3.2-inch touch-based display, 36-108mm lens and WiFi capabilities. Users can shoot 18 different scene modes and upload their pictures instantly to any social network of their choosing. The camera can have access to the Android Market, so in the middle of all the picture taking you can play a quick game of Angry Birds. No word on exactly when it will be available for purchase or how much it will cost. The representative of Polaroid also mentioned that hopefully one day there will be a Polaroid device with phone capabilities. So pretty random stuff being unveiled at CES. I am still waiting for someone to unveil the Android powered toilet.
