Sprint OTA updates hitting the HTC EVO 4G, EVO Design 4G and Epic 4G, Carrier IQ Removal?

Looks the owners of the HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO Design and Samsung Epic 4G will have an update landing shortly. With the Epic 4G update rolling out now and the remaining two HTC devices aimed at January 24th. Each of the updates brings in a variety of update applications or other device tweaks. All three updates however include a security update. We can only assume that this will be the first wave of removing Carrier IQ. Not all that long ago Sprint went on the record saying they will be removing that little guy from their devices. Take a look at what you can expect to find in your devices upcoming update -

The QIK and Asphalt 5 applications are no longer preloaded. When opening the applications using the application icon, you will be redirected to the Android market to download and install the full application.

We would love to hear from someone if Carrier IQ has been indeed removed with the update. Let us and others know in the comments.
