The Sims Freeplay coming to Android from EA Soon

The Sims is a classic game. Various version and expansion packs have been out for many years. With the release of more powerful smart phones, it found its way to Android. I remember it was pre-loaded on my Galaxy S. Now EA is looking to bring another version to Android sometime in February, The Sims Freeplay.

Freeplay operates slightly different from those in the past. You can control upto 16 different Sims with the same design and control in the past. What makes this Sims a bit different is the 24 hour day cycles. Instead of sitting down and play a whole a week in and hour, you will need to check in through out your day. Your Sims life will be much like your own. It will be like having kids with power button. If you are hungry, I bet your Sim needs to eat, gotta hit the bathroom? Your Sim might be waiting on you to do the same. I just hope my Sim can run on 5 hours of sleep a night or he is going to be cranky. Freeplay will offer what seems to be the normal in-app purchase set up to let you unlock items that can make your Sims life easier or look better. Of course if you are interested in playing for a very long time, items will become unlocked as well.

This will definitely not be a burn through game. Taking a 24 hour day approach easily puts you in for the long haul. I just hope I can set the time in the game to reflect my location so my Sim is on my schedule and not his own. We will be keeping an eye out for this game to drop and be sure to let you all know. Until then, anyone out there sporting it on iOS care to comment on what you think of the game?

It’s not so bad. It doesn’t feel a lot like a Sims game though as it’s no so much about gaining skills and balancing needs. It’s more about completing a set of goals that either take a long time to finish because of a countdown, or you can spend real money to speed things up.
It does look great visually though and on iOS at least, it’s the first Sims game to support tablets.
