Press invite leads to rumors of quad-core Tegra 3 Phones

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, that would mean the photo in the press invite for Mobile World Congress from NVIDIA could mean a whole lot. We have seen manufacturers and carriers be a little sneaky in the past with their print ads and invites. Leading the web to light up with rumors and speculations on what is coming or when it is coming. As you can see from the official press invite, we have a couple of mid-twenty something people screaming on a roller coaster. Instead of the guy holding up a Transformer Prime, he has a phone in his hands. Interesting isn’t it?

We have heard that NVIDIA would be showing us all a quad-core phone in early 2012. Since that didn’t happen at CES, MWC is the next likely event to showcase what they have been working on. Not that we need to point out the fine print in the ad that pretty much states the same thing.

The image has HTC-esque aspects to it like the camera and flash locations and the DINC2 with the odd battery cover. HTC is known for using Qualcomm chips, but one never knows what is going to come out from a manufacturer until it sees the light of day officially. One could also consider the ASUS PadFone as a likely candidate. ASUS is supposed to announce that at MWC too. Could they be unveiling it at the NVIDIA press event? It is likely. They did show the 7-inch Transformer with a Tegra 3 loaded inside during NVIDIA’s press event at CES.  I suppose we will all just have to wait and see what happens.
