Samsung Galaxy S III to feature ceramic back, 4.8-inch screen and simultaneous global Launch

We know Samsung told the world that they will not be sharing the Galaxy S III with the us at Mobile World Congress. Even though Samsung wont be showing it off just yet, we still find our selves looking for more information about the device everyday. We found a new little nugget of information that we had to let you all know about. The folk over at BGR have heard from a trusted source recently that gives us a little insight into the device. We aren’t saying the following information is 100% correct, but it does make sense.

According to the insider, Samsung has pushed back the unveiling of the SGSIII so that they can unleash the device simultaneously around the world. That would be a dream really. In the past the Galaxy S flagships have always landed over seas for 3 to 6 months before the U.S. and other countries say their own version. With talk of a global launch all at the same time, they expect to put the device in over 50 “markets or cities” on the same day. While this is really great news for those of us that hate to wait for a new device to finally land in our country, the news gets better. The SGSIII is said to be rolling in with a 4.8-inch screen. While the resolution has yet to be confirmed, we have heard a few things about what we might see. One such rumor is a Super AMOLED Plus HD screen, right along with the edge-to-edge design that kills off the bezel. Just looking at the render included in this article, if Samsung makes it happen, it will look stunning. BGR was also told that the back battery cover would be ceramic this go around instead of the plastic that most people think is cheap feeling.

The rest of the web still has speculations of the Eynos quad-core chip surfacing in the device, Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS and 4G LTE support. There has even been talk of a 12MP camera in the mix. The only thing we can be certain of at this time is that Samsung has a track record of making the next flagship Galaxy S device dramatically better than the previous model. We won’t be all that surprised if many of these rumors are true, or at least very close.

Based just on rumors and the render, what do you think? Are you holding off on the Galaxy Nexus to see what the Galaxy S III will have to offer? As badly as I need a new phone, I am personally holding out for the SGSIII. I think I can make it a little longer with my Vibrant.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

Please tell me I am seeing a dedicated Camera button on the top?

Thinking on holding up on buying the Sony Xperia Ion until this releases.. What you think? @Stormy Beach

Hmm. that is a tough one really. Sony’s screens are absolutely stunning. The BRAVIA Engine is pretty damn impressive. Their cameras also take stunning photos. While I only played around with the Xperia Ray for a while, I could use it every day just for photos and video. The Timescape UI is pretty visual and a lot of fun, but I am not a fan of overlays. No matter what you choose, except the GNex, an overlay is always a problem. Luckily we have a little help with nova Launcher. I am personally a fan of Samsung and the ease of access to root and fix things. It is one aspect that they got right. Regardless if they keep to an update schedule or not. I think it might be worth the wait just to get the final specs on the SGSIII before you drop the cash. I have a feeling it is going look like nothing else on the market and be a rather remarkable device. Just my thoughts though.

Would be a terrible feeling to drop this baby at any height. Hell, I wont Sleep with this on my bed as I do with my Captivate. Looks easily crackable. The Software can change, a little root and flashing can change that blouse to a bikini. GoLauncherEX is my preference but Nova is still new. Phone Manufacturers always leave out one thing or the other, whether a camera button or a led flash or a FM radio. This should compete with the HTC One X.
Let’s wait till MWC and then reach in out pockets for our wallets..

If the specs come close to what is being rumored, It’ll be my next phone. I’d bypass the Galaxy Nexus(If it ever gets to AT&T).

In the meantime, my trusty Captivate(running ICS) will do just fine

Damn it seems like when HTC tried to catch up, Sammy does one better on them, lol, HTC what happened to “Quietly Brilliant”? damn, sammy gonna make me change my mind about there phones.

I was going to by GNex, then the Note, and I have had a look at the HTC One X (the one with the crappy display).

But I will wait, keep my DHD a little bit longer until S3 is released.

I’ve had the HTC Evo 4g since the day it launched from Sprint. I live in an area that has no 4g coverage to this very day. I’ve been following the news of the HTC One X for awhile. To hear it may have a fixed battery disappoints me. I’ll most likely wait for the SGSIII. I’m also rather tired of the damn 8mp camera. Everything else on their phones improve except their camera. WTF HTC?

Yep s3 is for me. way to go sammy.
