Heads up Samsung Galaxy S II owners! Your long wait is almost over and that purchase is about to pay off. Thanks to a heads up from The Verge, we now know Sammy has officially announced the highly anticipated update to Android 4.0, aka Ice Cream Sandwich for the SGSII. The update will be available beginning March 10th, and you’ll need access to Kies 2.0 to get your ICS fix. You’ve waited this long, but I bet the next 48 hours or so will be the longest of your life.
We’ll be sure to let you know as soon as the update is officially available for the taking.

[UPDATE]
It looks like the joke was on us. According to a report from AndroidPolice, Samsung officially squashed this rumor last night on Twitter, stating that the date announced was an error and there is no set date as of yet. We’ll keep you posted.

Cool, what is Kies 2.0 though? And is this for all GSII editions across all carriers?
