AT&T readying 4G LTE Galaxy Nexus Launch?

8

According to some rumors and a little talk around the industry, AT&T is the next carrier to bring the Galaxy Nexus to their customers. A trusted and inside source  at AT&T states the Galaxy Nexus is close at hand. The device is already out in a select few hands for testing on the network as we speak.

This would put the Galaxy Nexus on 3 out of the top 4 carriers in the U.S. Sprint is set to launch one very soon and we all know Verizon already has one. Even though they absolutely hate to advertise or talk about it. It is said that the AT&T version will run a standard SIM rather than the micro SIM Verizon currently uses.

I know many people still long for the true AOSP Android experience, but with new devices like the HTC One X landing on AT&T soon as well, I am wondering if the Galaxy Nexus is dead already. I am sure that many dedicated Android users will pick it up, but I am having a hard time seeing the Nexus brand continuing its reign after Verizon got it and let it die.  What do you guys think? Will the Gnes out seel the One X, or did the Nexus brand already lose its momentum? Oh, and where the hell is T-Mobile’s version?

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

I would still be interested in a nexus phone. I have the Skyrocket now and the only thing it lacks for me is the kind of developer support the Captivate had. The G Nex has AOSP and a better display, so it seems like a good upgrade to me.

I can see and agree with what Matt may be saying above me because for a techie, this phone may still be valuable. But for the average consumer like me….. This phone is so December 2011.

Lol, maybe it’s been out a while but what does it not have that other phones do? Quad core is all I can think, and if the Tegra 3 is anything like the Tegra 2,I’ll pass.

Yeah. I know what you’re saying. That’s because you’re a techie and you know all about that stuff. You’re tech savvy. But to an average consumer.. all they see is that this phone came out last year. See what I’m saying. Thanks for the reply buddy! :-)
