Rovio finally expanding past Angry Birds, next game called ‘Amazing Alex’

3

We were wondering just how long Rovio would ride the Angry Birds wave. We knew they were smart enough to not just fizzle out and come crashing to the ground. Looks like we all were right. Rovio has a new games in the works that is definitely not another themed Angry Birds games. The next title to come out of the company will be called Amazing Alex. Not the most catchy of names, but what the game is aiming to bring will make it an instant hit.

The game featured a kid named Alex, how strange huh. This kid likes to build stuff and make things happen. You can expect a lot of problem solving skills to be required to work through some great puzzles. While puzzle games aren’t anything new to Android or any other platform for that matter, Amazing Alex should bring one of my all time favorite games back to life. Anyone out there remember The Incredible Machine? iOS actually has that game in the iTunes store, but people don’t seem to be too pleased with it. Having Rovio in charge of a similar game should prove to be outstanding.

Amazing Alex has the same principles, but is actually based off of Casey’s Contraptions, which Rovio recently acquired. It isn’t planned to hit the market for a couple of months yet, but you can a good ide of what to expect from a video of Casey’s Contraptions below.

Anyone else as excited to see this game launch as I am? I hope they go with an Android and iOS launch simultaneously.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.

  1. The game looks like fun and all but Isn’t it just copying and plagiarizing “The Incredible Machine” game from back in the 80′s?

I suppose so. But Rovio has the license of the Casey’s game. I am sure it is different enough or has been licensed in some way. Rovio isn’t dumb enough to just make something illegal and make a killing doing so.
