While not everyone in the world knows who or what CyanogenMOD is, there are enough of us out there that can appreciate the most recent set of numbers. Combined between official installs and unofficial installs, CyanogenMOD has reached another monumental occasion. It has now been installed on over 2 million devices. That is something pretty spectacular. The numbers reflect official builds at 1,028,547 and unofficial builds of 998,362. The unofficial builds are ROM’s that other developers have built using the official CyanogenMOD as their starting point, adding in their own personal tweaks or themes, along with porting to otherwise non officially supported devices. With numbers like that, we still don’t understand how and why some manufacturers aren’t playing nicer with the developer community. Nice work guys, keep it up. We are looking forward to seeing that 3 million marker soon.
